Most biscuits freeze well. Use these tips to guide you:

  • Completely cool baked biscuits, scones and shortcakes on a wire rack before wrapping and freezing. To protect flavor and prevent the baked products from drying out, wrap tightly in heavy duty aluminum foil or freezer wrap, or pack in freezer bags. Label all packages with the name of the recipe and the date. Baked products should be stored at 0°F or lower. Use within the recommended storage time for the best flavor and texture.
  • To thaw and reheat a single frozen biscuit, scone or shortcake in the microwave or conventional oven, use the directions below:
    • For microwave oven, microwave on HIGH for 10 to 30 seconds.
    • For conventional oven, place foil wrapped package in a preheated 300°F oven. Heat thawed biscuits, scones and shortcakes about 10 minutes; frozen about 20 minutes.
